STMS Cat AB Non Practicing Workshop Overview:

Unit Standard 31962 (Level 3, 5 credits)

This 1.5 day workshop provides base knowledge of working on Category A and B roading environments.  This is theory knowledge behind the STMS role only.

To gain a practicing qualification in STMS A and/or B you will then need to complete 2 closures observed by a TTM mentor, followed by 1 closure assessed by our Connexis Assessor per category of road you need to show competency on.  Ie, if you only worked on Category A (low speed) roads, you would complete 3 closures on a Category A road.  If you worked on both A and B (high speed), you would complete 3 closures each, so 6 closures total.

On successful completion of this workshop you will receive Unit Standard 31962 – Explain the requirements for the worksite under temporary traffic management for a road environment as defined in CoPTTM.
